A few years ago a non-profit organization was started by 2 college students who were touched by suicide. They decided to start 46 Climbs. The organization raises money for suicide prevention. Each year you can chose a mountain that you wish to climb. With your donation you receive a tee shirt, bumper sticker, bandana and other hiking goodies and starting on Labor day for the next 10 days you climb your mountain to help stamp out Suicide. This year $36.245 dollars were raised.
We chose Goodnow Mt. The Burnt Hills crew consisting of my son Jesse, his friend Sean, Penny and myself , hit the trail at 930 am. The weather was perfect. No clouds, no humidity and a starting temp of 55. We had an awesome time with beautiful views as you will see. We ended the trip with a visit to Rich Lake, another gem of the Adirondack Park.
Please check out 46 Climbs and join in the fun and help a great cause next year.
